Welcome to Harbor City Toastmasters!
Are you nervous about giving a presentation to your colleagues? Are you going for an interview and worrying about answering off-the wall questions? Do you have to speak at your best friend's wedding and don't know how to put your speech together?
Harbor City Toastmasters can help!
Harbor City Toastmasters is a diverse group (occupations, ages, ethnic backgrounds, speaking ability) who come together to help each other advance in the areas of public speaking and leadership.
We accomplish this at our meetings by delivering speeches and partaking in various meeting roles. Most importantly, we do it by having fun!
Please come join us at our next meeting at the West Melbourne Library located at 2755 Wingate Blvd, West Melbourne, FL, 32904. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00 am through 12 pm. Please come early so that we can meet you before the meeting begins!

New Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Vera da Silva
“Distinguished Toastmaster”, the highest honor any Toastmaster can achieve, requires extraordinary commitment. Not only does an individual experience tremendous growth in public speaking by completing more than 40 speeches, but among the many other requirements, they must serve their District as a District Officer and either Sponsor, Mentor or Coach a Toastmasters Club.
Congratulations to Vera da Silva for becoming Harbor City's newest Distinguished Toastmaster!

In October 1924, a group of men assembled by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley met in the basement of the YMCA in Santa Ana, California, U.S.A., forming a club “to afford practice and training in the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability and good fellowship among its members.” The group took the name “Toastmasters.” We are a local chapter of Toastmasters International . Anyone is welcome to visit our club.
Today, Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests. Toastmasters International includes more than 199,000 men and women in more than 9,300 clubs in more than 70 countries.
Experienced professionals and beginning speakers alike can benefit from our practical, face-to-face learning program. Whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better. You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you are—to become better communicators.
At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical Toastmasters club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.

Harbor City Toastmasters meets at the West Melbourne Library located at 2755 Wingate Blvd, West Melbourne, FL, 32904. See the Directions link on the left.
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00 am through 12 pm. Please come early so that we can meet you before the meeting begins!
